REVENUES FROM ALLOCATIONS AT ALL BORDERS 56% OVER PLANNED

Due to the virus coronavirus pandemic, there has been an increasing interest in the allocation of cross-border capacities, which runs smoothly both on the cable and on the other borders of Montenegro. This claim is supported by the fact that the revenue from the allocation of cross-border transmission capacities at the border with Italy is in line with the plan, while exceeding our projections at other borders. The allocation at all borders in the first quarter was 56 percent higher than projected.

From the day of official commissioning of the submarine cable, the following energy volumes have been exchanged through the same with Italy: a total of 388,594.8 MWh was imported (megawatt hours), of which 48,125.5 MWh was imported, and 275,014 MWh was exported as of 16 March, of which 80,825.2 MWh refers to the period from 16 March when extraordinary measures introduced by the Government of Montenegro entered into force. CGES has generated revenues of over seven million euros at all auctions held so far and at all borders, including the submarine cable.

The coronavirus pandemic has inevitably caused a series of changes in day-to-day company business. Therefore, it was necessary to adapt to the new circumstances, which required additional effort to protect our employees' health. In such circumstances, we have shown responsibility, professionalism, but also the ability to adapt to the new situation. To this purpose, CGES preventive action team which takes care of the implementation of all measures and recommendations of the National Coordinating Body and the Government of Montenegro has been formed as well as crisis staffs in case of possible deterioration of the epidemiological situation to act on separate sites, all aimed at responding proactively in prevention of the import and spread of virus on the one hand, and keeping the transmission system stable and reliable on the other.

In addition, Plan of engagement has been prepared for all job positions in CGES depending on the level of the estimated risks of virus spread. The work and tasks in our company are organized according to this Plan.

Finally, we emphasize that safety, or rather reliability in power supply, is the primary task of CGES in all circumstances, including those, when facing risks of coronavirus spread. Accordingly, in current circumstances, the reliability of electricity transmission is maintained at the highest possible level, in compliance with all recommendations of the competent institutions.
