CGES' EMPLOYEES PLANTED 22 TREES WITHIN THE MY TREE PROJECT

Employees of Crnogorski elektroprenosni sistem (CGES) have planted 22 trees in the Kralja Nikole Street in Podgorica within the My Tree app, created in cooperation between the Capital City and the company Amplitudo.

In this way, a new park surface has been formed within the project of greening of the Capital City.

On that occasion, CGES Executive Director Dragan Kujović reminded that Podgorica, former Titograd, was the greenest city of capital cities of former Yugoslavian republics and he emphasised his pleasure with the initiative of the Capital City and that CGES, as a socially responsible company, accepted to be a part of the project and provide support in accordance with the Company’s possibilities. “On the one hand, the intention is to give a specific contribution by purchasing 22 trees that will be planted today, and on the other to impact on raising awareness of the significance of preserving the environment and investing in it. Thus, regarding CGES, we will always support this and similar initiatives and we hope that this will be just one in the series of implemented projects”, Kujović concluded.

Dr Ivan Vuković, the Mayor of Podgorica, emphasised that CGES was the first company to respond to this initiative, and so far it has invested the biggest amount as a socially responsible company that showed interest to help us in implementing this project. Although the My Tree app was officially launched just two weeks ago, we already have seedlings sold in the amount of over 10,000, which means that Podgorica will get over 100 new seedlings in the following ten days”, Mayor Vuković underlined and invited all citizens to “preserve green surfaces.”

The representative of Amplitudo Boris Ristović expressed his satisfaction that after one year of planning this application has finally started with operation. “As citizens living for many years in Zabjelo (district of Podgorica), we are even more pleased that we start from this park”, Ristović said and reminded that representatives of Amplitudo are going to Lisbon where they should presents this project at one of the biggest conferences, thereby receiving acknowledgment also outside the borders of Montenegro.

Radmila Vujošević, Director of Zelenilo (public enterprise responsible for managing green surfaces), emphasised that Zelenilo and the Capital City, besides this location, have proposed in cooperation with Amplitudo other four locations on which 206 trees will be planted. “In addition to a very good cooperation with the NGO sector and socially responsible companies, during our ordinary activities, just in this year we planted over 280 grown tress and over 1,000 seedlings for afforestation, and we also built over 8,000 new green surfaces.”
