Prizes of the Association of Montenegrin Managers to most successful managers and entrepreneurs in 2016 were delivered on 27 April 2017 at the ceremony held in “Hilton” Hotel.
The prize award ceremony was attended by 250 guests, among which were the most successful managers in Montenegro, representatives of the State, diplomatic corps, local authority, economy, science, culture, business organisations, members and friends of the Association of Montenegrin Managers, as well as a big number of media representatives.
The selection of most successful managers and entrepreneurs of the year had support of the Government of Montenegro, Chamber of Economy, Montenegrin Employers Federation and Foreign Investors Council. The President of the Association of Montenegrin Managers, Budimir Raičković, apostrophised the significance of the prize which emphasises results achieved by the laureates, but also other businessmen worth of attention and respect in extremely difficult conditions for business, both in the country and the region.
Dragan Laketić, Chairman of CGES Board of Directors, congratulated the Association for the idea to organise such event which, according to his opinion, draws attention of the public and raises awareness of the role and importance of manager skills in a society. “I take this opportunity to congratulate colleagues prizewinners and to wish them still a lot of success in future work, and prizes as consequence of such success. I would like to thank the Association of Montenegrin Managers, business entities that proposed me for the prizes, Coal Mine “Pljevlja” and “BI Consulting”, as well as the jury of experts on the respects paid by choosing me for manager of the year in the category of state majority-owned companies. Although the prize has personal character, I personally see it as a reward for results achieved by CGES, and for which is mostly responsible the team that manages the Company. I am proud and privileged to be part of this team for such a long time and to have the opportunity to participate in the strong investment development of Crnogorski elektroprenosni sistem, and to participate, together with our strategic partner Terna, in the implementation of one of the biggest investment projects in the transmission network in Europe, worth over EUR 1 billion, which is the project of submarine interconnection between Montenegro and Italy.”
Laketić made a brief overview on the Company and achieved results in the previous period.
CGES is a state majority-owned joint-stock company that performs the activity of electricity transmission which, according to the Energy Law, is an activity of public interest. CGES is a full member of the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity – ENTSO-E, and our work is harmonised with standards valid in the transmission network in Europe. Since 2009, when we transformed from a sector in EPCG into a legally and proprietary separated company, we have invested EUR 115 million in the transmission network. Value of our fixed assets increased from EUR 130 million to over EUR 200 million. For all this time, we achieved a profit of over EUR 37 million.
By saying what personally for him means the selection of the most successful manager in Montenegro, Laketić emphasised:
“Recognitions represent a positive echo of our work, they please and stimulate for further action. They give a new sense to your actions, especially in an environment which is tight in praising and where information on positive results are often received with suspicion. This selection has an additional weight due to the fact that the Association of Montenegrin Managers organises it for the first time and that we had the honour to be firs laureates. As I have already said, this is a recognition for results achieved by CGES, as well as a recognition for all who have a contribution to this result.”
After the carried out public competition for the “Selection of the most favourable managers and entrepreneurs for 2016”, on which the Association of Montenegrin Managers received 156 proposals, and of which 91 candidacy was accepted.
