Crnogorski elektroprenosni sistem participated in a fundraising dinner organized by the Association of Parents of Children suffering from cancer "Fenix Montenegro" and Clinical Center of Montenegro, wherewith we once again showed humanity at work and sensitivity to the youngest patients.
Appreciating "Fenix" gathering mission, mainly dedicated to children suffering from this serious disease, but also to their parents and guardians, CGES has provided its contribution to children who struggle with this evil disease to have better treatment conditions.
The funds are earmarked for the renovation of six apartments of the Department of Pediatrics and adaptation of the rooms for the treatment of children suffering from cancer, and the charity dinner raised 31,100 euros from 36 institutions and companies.
President of the Association of Fenix, Dijana Stojanovic said that this association was established on 15 February 2013 the International Childhood Cancer Day.
"Founders are the parents of five children treated for cancer, three of them are successfully cured and two died. The goal of the association is to bring together parents of children who are being treated, parents whose children have successfully completed treatment and the parents who have lost a child due to malignancy, and through mutual assistance and joint action to help children suffering from cancer ", explained Stojanovic.
She has pointed out that the current situation regarding the conditions of the hospital accommodation of children suffering from cancer is at a low level.
"Children with cancer in Montenegro are treated and stayed in hospital together with other children, making their vulnerable body, already exhausted by disease and chemotherapy, subject to all other diseases and infections, due to unsecured isolation," noted Stojanovic.
She has pointed out that in order to address the issue, Fenix Montenegro and KCCG agreed to rehabilitate part of the Department of Pediatrics and adapt these rooms for treatment of children suffering from cancer.
Stojanovic thanked all institutions, organizations and individuals who have recognized the importance and necessity of this action and, on behalf of the Association of Fenix, presented thank you letters to donors.
