Substation “Podgorica 2” is one of the essential junction points for electricity supply of middle and south region of Montenegro Modernization of this substation is of great importance for the transmission system of Montenegro, therefore the old transformer, who has been in operation for already three decades, was in these days replaced with a new one with power of 300 megavolt amperes, worth over one and a half million euros.
Additionally, within the replacement of transformer it has been performed also reconstruction of high-voltage transformer bays.
By putting into operation the new transformer, the Montenegrin coast, Cetinje and KAP obtained a more reliable electricity supply. The new transformer, due to modern technical solutions and used materials, creates lower electricity losses than the transformer it replaced. It has also the possibility of regulating voltage on 110 kV side of transformer under load.
Transport of transformer in Montenegro was assigned to the company from Belgrade “Bora Kečić“ and “Zagreb Trans“, while the installation of the transformer was performed by “Elektroistok“- Belgrade, under the surveillance of CHINT.
Testing of the transformer was carried out by CGES and Institute “Nikola Tesla“ - Belgrade.
Company “Refleksing” from Podgorica developed the project of adapting SS to the new transformer, while our Company did revision of the project of adapting.
