Representatives of five Western Balkans countries signed on 27 April in Vienna the “Memorandum of understanding on the development of market and establishing of future cooperation“. The document was signed within implementation of the obligations assumed in the “Berlin Process” and, at the same time, it represents a big step forward in forming of an organized electricity market in the region. The Memorandum was signed by the competent ministries, regulatory authorities and transmission operators of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Serbia, Albania and Macedonia.
On behalf of Montenegro, the document was signed by the authorized representatives of the Ministry of Economy, Energy Regulatory Agency, Montenegrin Electricity Market Operator and Montenegrin Electric Power Transmission System.
