CGES CELEBRATED IT'S DAY

Crnogorski elektroprenosni sistem celebrated with a modest ceremony its 6 years of independent work, and 60 years of integrated electric power system.

It celebrated six years of successes and fulfillment, remarkable business results, period of full devotion to development goals, maximum commitment of all employees, period of contributed knowledge and effort, evident results, large investments, but also nice achievements. A period of significantly evident financial indicators.

On this occasion, the president of the Board of Directors Dragan Laketić, by greeting the present persons, said:

-I’m grateful for the opportunity to refer to you also this 1st of July, which we are celebrating already six years in a row as the Day of Crnogorski elektroprenosni sistem. Besides the gratefulness, I’m also pleased that I can share with you my belief that business results we achieved at the end of 2014 speak convincingly about another successful business year, now already sixth in a row with a positive business result, and also with a record gained profit. The record profit of 12,1 million euros, record percentage of investment plan implementation for one year in the amount of 98,4 %, as also a record amount of totally implemented investments in the internal grid in the amount of 98,4%, and the record amount of totally realized investments for one year in the amount of 20,3 million euros are facts which should make us satisfied and proud. Additionally, Laketić underlined, we endeavored and succeeded to continue with the trend of growth of business efficiency for which one of the key indicators is increase of assets value per employee. If we remember that this company was founded in end of March 2009 when our economy and society already felt considerably the consequences of the global financial crisis, which unfortunately did not abate until today, then business results in the previous period, and especially in 2014, become even more impressive. Aware of all factors which impacted in achieved results, we endeavored to balance, alongside the implementation of very demanding plans, consequences of inapplicability of certain decisions of the regulator which essentially impact o CGES operations, and give our contribution to improving relationships of crucial actors of the electric power scene in Montenegro. These events confirmed once again that the predictability of regulatory framework and harmonized relationship between energy undertakings are necessary conditions for a successful achievement of public interest goals, and in favor and to the satisfaction of CGES’ shareholders.

In order to realize our mission and provide a reliable transmission system with enough capacity and undisturbed access for all users, it is necessary to continue with activities of connection and reinforcement of transmission network both on the internal side and towards our surroundings, because only in this way, as he underlined, we will be able to respond the challenges imposed to us by the future, and these are, primarily, integration of renewable sources and creating of all conditions for an undisturbed electricity market functioning. I would highlight several investments project illustrating our approach to development of transmission network in all regions of Montenegro, and whose completion is expected by the end of this or by middle of the following year.  These projects are the following:

- Overhead line 110 kV “Tivat-Kotor”, by whose completion will be put into operation the already constructed substation 110/35 kV “Škaljari” in Kotor;

- Double-sided connection to the transmission network of substation 110/10 kV “Podgorica 4”;

- Construction of substation 110/10 kV “Kličevo” in Nikšić and its connection to the transmission network;

- Extension of substation 220/110/35 kV “Mojkovac” by installing a second 110/35 kV transformer, with power of 20 MVA.

I believe that our investment projects stimulate investment activities in Montenegro and the region, especially those regarding construction of new electricity sources. In order to comply with these objective, it is necessary that we continue with an intensive implementation of the project of undersea connection with Italy, as also other investment projects, for which was planned the amount of 164 mil euros in the next five-year period. We want that our activities, especially investment ones, for which we obtained a clear institutional support, are accepted in a broader social context and in these terms we are ready and open to continue the public dialogue with the aim of finding a compromise between necessity of constructing transmission newtork facilities and protection of interest of the other party, always keeping in mind that the transmission network in Montenegro is a part of the technically unique European transmission network and that is has to fulfil standards and criteria of operation safety prescribed on the European level. Our goal is to minimize the negative impact on the environment by constructing transmission network facilities and achieve as much as possible compatibility with the environment.

Our top priorities include maintaining high level of cooperation with the European Network of Transmission System Operators for Electricity (ENTSO-e) and Energy Community of South East Europe, as well as maintaining the leading position in the openness towards regional initiatives such as Coordinated Auction Office (CAO) and Security Coordination Centre (SCC), thereby contributing to integration processes our country and society strive for.

In the end, Dragan Laketić specially emphasized that the commitment and expertise of our employees were decisive factors in achieving these business results and he thanked members of Board of Directors, management team and all employees for cooperation and contribution they have invested in the achievement of business objectives.

The past year confirmed that we stay devoted to the concept of socially-responsible operation as a strategic framework for managing our company. There is little time to list all our actions within this part of operation. Nevertheless, we have to point out one large dose of sensibility regarding disabled persons and institutions taking care of such members of our company. That is why on this occasion, the Executive Director of CGES Ivan Bulatović assigned a check to the representative of the Resource center from Kotor, Ms. Jelena Avramović, which will allow purchase of interactive table and projector. This donation will help the children in the Resource center to successfully follow lectures within the education process.

The potential of each company is measured by the number of individuals ready to initiate everything what is necessary to respond to requests imposed by the surroundings. We in CGES work to have as many of such individuals. Among them is also Danijel Bucalo from the overhead line squad Podgorica, who is declared for CGES best employee.

Second year in the row we stimulate employees in out electric power facilities to take care about their second home. To this purpose, we declared also this time the best substation in Montenegro. This recognition went to SS 110/35 kV “Nikšić”.

And in the end, not less important, CGES now and in the future invites its pensioners who leaved a mark by their commitment and work, but also notable action within our company. To this regard, the Executive Director on this occasion did the honor to two of our pensioners with appropriate presents.
