On 18 January 2023, Crnogorski elektroprenosni sistem energised the 110 kV line Lastva-Brezna, 100 kilometres long. Namely, in the previous period, CGES implemented numerous activities that were a prerequisite for commissioning the temporary connection 110 kV Lastva-Brezna in order to unload the transmission network from Nikšić (Perućica) to Podgorica to ensure a more reliable supply of electricity to consumers. The connection is a complex line consisting of a section of the 110 kV overhead line Lastva-Kotor, a section of the 400 kV overhead line Lastva-Pljevlja, and the temporary 110 kV cable connection connecting the two mentioned lines.
The importance of temporary connection in the situation of today's energy crisis is very great. The new 110 kV ring will significantly increase the security of supply to consumers for the upcoming winter season, with which CGES continues to perform its role of ensuring reliable and safe supply of electricity to consumers.
